چکیده
Abstract An underwater force sensor for internal waves is presented. Using this sensor, we measure forces at a location near the surface of fluid. The performs point measurement with high temporal resolution. We perform measurements in density-stratified fluid contained trapezoidal basin. By shaking basin longitudinally, gravity are generated. 15 صفحه اولDirect measurement of entropic forces induced by rigid rods.
We present the first direct depletion potential measurements for a single colloidal sphere close to a wall in a suspension of rigid colloidal rods. Since all particle interactions are as good as hard-core-like, the depletion potentials are of entirely entropic origin. We developed a density functional theory approach that accurately accounts for this experimental situation. The depletion potent...

متن کاملMeasurement of long-term denudation rates in carbonate landscapes using in situ-produced 36Cl cosmogenic nuclide
ecent progresses have been made in the quantification of denudation of eroding landscapes and its links with topography. Despite these advances, data is still sparse in carbonate terrain, which covers a significant part of the Earth’s surface. We can now measure in situ-produced cosmogenic nuclides concentrations in various near-surface materials, allowing accurate quantification of the rates o...
متن کاملDirect measurement of thermophoretic forces.
We study the thermophoretic motion of a micron sized single colloidal particle in front of a flat wall by evanescent light scattering. To quantify thermophoretic effects we analyse the nonequilibrium steady state (NESS) of the particle in a constant temperature gradient perpendicular to the confining walls. We propose to determine thermophoretic forces from a "generalized potential" associated ...
